Why:
All operators of motorboats with 25 horsepower or greater motors born after January 1, 1982 must complete a boating safety course and have a boating safety certificate, as well as all operators of personal watercraft.
Who:
The class will be taught and administered by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission.
When:
The Pittsburgh Boat Show is offering two FREE Boating Safety education classes. Each class is eight hours long.
The first Boating Safety education class will be on Saturday, January 18th and the second class will be on Sunday, January 19th . Class on Friday will begin promptly at 10a.m. and run until 6 p.m. Class on Sunday will begin promptly at 10am and run until 6:00 p.m.
Where:
The class and exam will take place at the Monroeville Convention Center.
Bonus:
Each student who completes the class will receive a ticket good for free admission to the Boat Show.
How:
To take the class, send an email to Mandy Smith at mirsmith@pa.gov . Let her know which class you would like to attend and show up approximately fifteen minutes prior to the start of class (8:45 a.m.) at the Monroeville Convention Center. Go to the front entrance and you will be directed to the classroom.
